Creative Climate Futures

Creative Climate Futures is a new project that support local climate action in Glasgow. Communities in Easterhouse and the Gorbals have been invited to collaborate with decision-makers, technical experts and artists to understand what climate change means for their neighbourhoods, imagine climate ready futures, and speed up local action to make these a reality.

The project has climate justice at its centre – recognising that our response to climate change must also tackle inequality and its underlying causes. Creative Climate Futures combines this approach with arts and creativity to help our two neighbourhoods drive action to create the futures they want.

As part of the Creative Climate Futures project, I was the lead website designer and developer responsible for creating an effective online presence for the two participating neighbourhoods: Easterhouse and the Gorbals.

My role involved developing wireframes and designing website user experiences tailored to each community, informed by a close study of their climate-focused initiatives, local identities, and goals.

Each neighbourhood was given its own dedicated website to showcase their projects, share progress, and engage the wider public. In addition to the website development, I contributed to the creation of marketing and promotional materials to support the visibility of the project. At the end of the project, I also delivered training sessions to ensure that local teams could manage and update their websites independently going forward.
